Hunting methods

All hunting is done on foot with trackers and porters. We start in the morning looking for fresh tracks of Bongo, Buffalo or Elephant. Once a good track is found we follow it taking into account noise and direction of wind. Bongo is hunted while tracking with dogs. The bongo will face the dogs and allows us to approach it for evaluation of the trophy. Buffalo, Elephant and sitatunga are hunted tracking them on foot or waiting for them at saltlicks where blinds are constructed.
The Duikers are hunted by calling. Our native trackers are experts: their call not only attracts the duikers but also hornbills, monkey eagles, different monkeys and apes. The duikers can be shot with a rifle but it is more advisable to use a shotgun.
